Senators Extend Vermette’s Contract

Looks like the Ottawa Senators didn’t want to risk losing forward, Antoine Vermette (there were some rumblings about the Vancouver Canucks showing some interest) and have re-signed him to a two-year contract worth $5.525 million.
He had a great season last year and enjoyed career highs with 24 goals and 29 assists. He also had a 56.7 percent success rate on faceoffs which was good enough to be ranked sixth in the NHL.
I think this was a good choice and, along with getting rid of goaltender Ray Emery, I think the Sens could be on their way back…
