Stamkos Signs 3-Year Deal with Lightning

stamkos-tsnWow.  That didn’t take very long!  The Tampa Bay Lightning have already signed overall draft pick, Steven Stamkos, to a three-year deal in which he will be paid $875,000 annually.  It is a pretty standard rookie deal but he also could earn as much as $8.55-million in performance bonuses over the life of the contract.  “Under the NHL’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, rookie salaries are based up the player’s draft position.”

Right now, the newcomer is out in Victoria, British Columbia training at the Bolts’ prospect camp.
