Halak’s Agent Tweets Questionable Comment

With Carey Price struggling, Jaroslav Halak has been used as the starting goaltender more than some expected. I’ve been pretty happy for the backup goaltender since I think he’s got some talent but needs more ice time to develop. Price has actually been pretty cool about it (I even have wondered if he was being too cool) so I think the fact that Halak’s agent Allan Walsh took a swipe at him on Twitter makes him a douche.
All of this went down after the Montreal Canadiens lost 3-1 to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday night. Walsh decided to do …read more

Whoa, whoa, whoa… Carey Price has all but relinquished his #1 spot as the Montreal Canadiens goaltender – for now. At practice yesterday, Price spoke of backup netminder Jaroslav Halak and said: “Everybody wants to play, but when the team’s doing well you have to think of the team first and that’s what I’m doing right now. He’s on a streak right now. He’s been playing well, so he deserves his playing time.”
What fresh hell is this? Yes, I realize that Price lost his first four starts and Halak won his first four starts but I didn’t think that Price …read more
Can Price Handle the Pressure in Montreal?

Carey Price had a pretty rough time last year and, while I’m sure he was disappointed in his own performance on the ice, the reaction of the Montreal Canadiens fans had to be a tough pill for a young goalie to swallow.
Having grown up in Montreal, I know how tough that market can be. Hockey is almost a religion in that city so the players are held under scrutiny in a particularly difficult way. Whether they are attacking a player (like former captain, Saku Koivu) for not speaking French well enough or booing their own team at the …read more

The playoffs are over for the Montreal Canadiens who are celebrating their 100th anniversary season this year. Sadly, they were swept by long-time rivals, the Boston Bruins, in an humiliating 4-1 elimination. At least the fans didn’t embarrass themselves this time by booing the American national anthem.
It looks even worse when you consider the combined scores from the series – Boston outscored the Habs 17-6. To add even more insult to injury, Michael Ryder, who was dealt away by Montreal, registered a hat trick in the victory for Boston.
Andrei Kostitsyn was the only player to score for the Habs after …read more

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ryan O’Byrne scored on his own empty net during a delayed penalty after Carey Price headed to the bench waiting for the call! As a result, the game went into overtime and the Montreal Canadiens ended up not only losing their lead but also the game to the New York Islanders.
Just look at Price coming off the bench looking across the ice. He must have been so pissed!
