Oilers Hire Fleming as Assistant Coach

The Edmonton Oilers have an assistant coach. The team has brought on Wayne Fleming, who was most recently employed as the head coach of the Continental Hockey League’s Avangard Omsk (last season) but may be more familiar to Canadians as the former assistant coach of the Calgary Flames for three seasons.
Oilers GM, Steve Tambellini, seems happy with the deal: "Wayne brings an array of experience from both the NHL and international level. We feel his knowledge of the game will be a compliment to our coaching staff."

Pat Quinn Announced as Edmonton Oilers Coach

Looks like the Edmonton Oilers have won this round of the Battle of Alberta. Both the Oilers and their rivals, the Calgary Flames, needed a new coach and, this morning, it was announced that Pat Quinn would take on the role of head coach for Edmonton with former New York Rangers coach, Tom Renney, at his side as the associate head coach. Kelly Buchberger, will remain as an assistant coach.
