Cole Off Hurricanes Roster for 4-6 Weeks

As if the Carolina Hurricanes aren’t already off to a bad enough start, they’ve now lost Erik Cole for 4-6 weeks. The power forward seems to have bad luck with injuries and now he’ll be sitting out after an MRI showed a fracture in his lower left leg.
The break happened after he made contact with Boston Bruins defenceman, Dennis Wideman, during their terrible loss on Saturday night.

O’Sullivan Traded Twice in Deal Involving Williams, Cole and Kotalik

In the most confusing move of the day, Patrick O’Sullivan was actually traded twice in a pair of deals that involved four NHL teams. O’Sullivan was originally traded from the Los Angeles Kings to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for forward, Justin Williams.
It was soon learned, however, that the 24-year-old would be on the move again when he was swiftly traded by the Hurricanes to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Erik Cole, who was part of the Canes organization when they won the Stanley Cup in 2006.
