Pittsburgh Stays Alive, Forces Game 7

Pittsburgh Stays Alive, Forces Game 7

Going into Game 6 tonight, I have to admit that I was not overly optimistic.  However, within just a few minutes it was clear that the Pittsburgh Penguins had used those few days off to regroup and bring the focus and energy that got them to the Stanley Cup Finals for the second time in as many years.

I was absolutely stunned by how controlled the Penguins played and how well they managed to keep the Detroit Red Wings from getting too many shots away.  In total, Marc-Andre Fleury faced 26 shots on net and he turned away 25 of them …read more

We also saw a lot of action between …read more

Detroit Gives Zetterberg 12-Year Extension

The Detroit Red Wings have given star forward, Henrik Zetterberg, an incredible deal – a 12-year, $72 million USD contract extension!
Wow!  Aren’t we in a recession?  Anyway, the team made the announcement today.  The deal will keep Zetterberg with the Red Wings until he’s 40 years old.  You can’t blame them, though.  The man has 43 points in 45 games so far this season.
