]]> Jeremy Roenick is expected to announce his retirement tomorrow and I’m both sad and happy about it.  Of course, anytime a great player like Roenick hangs up his skates it’s a little sad but it’s hard to feel sorry for a guy who has had a great career that spanned over 20 seasons.

Drafted eighth overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in 1988, he joined the San Jose Sharks as a free agent in 2007.  The 39-year-old is a two-time 50 goal scorer, he’s 36th on the all-time goals list (513), 48th on the all-time assist list (703) and for tied 39th on the all-time points list (1,216).  He’s also the third American player to reach 500 goals, he’s been on the All-Star roster a whopping nine times and he’s played for Team USA twice at the Olympics.

While those are definitely some admirable achievements, I’m going to miss Roenick’s wacky and fun personality, especially during interviews.   Here’s one of my favorite Roenick moments – he loved to dance!
