Should Gustavsson Be Allowed To Play?

Before he made his NHL debut, I was so excited to see what Jonas Gustavsson was going to add to the Toronto Maple Leafs roster (since they need all the help they can get) because I would like to see them become serious competitors.  Unfortunately, things haven’t been very easy for the Swedish goaltender.

The netminder was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure after his heart started racing.  Apparently, the feeling he got was similar to the problems he experienced during training camp.  He underwent a procedure to correct the issue but it is possible that it didn’t work.  …read more

Gustavsson Already on Injured Reserve

I’m pretty bummed about this news but Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender, Jonas Gustavsson, is on the injured reserve list after suffering from a bit of a groin pull.  It doesn’t sound too serious but you never know with these things.
The rookie will probably be on the bench for at least a week.  “I was examined yesterday, and they think I pulled it a little bit,” Gustavsson said.  “So I’ll take it easy for a few days.”
