The regular season is over, the playoffs are almost wrapped up and the NHL Awards and NHL Entry Draft are right around the corner. This part of the year is almost always marked by teams making huge changes and the Dallas Stars have jumped right in.
NHL.com is reporting that, after six seasons behind Dallas’ bench, head coach, Dave Tippett has been relieved of his duties despite the fact that he has an impressive 271-156-28-37 record. It had to be expected, however, that major changes would be on their way when Joe Nieuwendyk took over as the team’s general manager.

Steve Moore vs. Todd Bertuzzi – Will There Finally Be a Settlement?

I’m not trying to be a jerk or anything but I really wish this Steve Moore/Todd Bertuzzi thing would just get resolved. It’s dragging out and just has gone on long enough.
There was a face-to-face meeting in a court-mediated hearing today. At the meeting, Moore asked for $38 million in lost income and damages after his career was ended when Bertuzzi sucker-punched him and drove his head to the ice (I’m not in complete agreement that the last part was all Bert’s fault) during a game at Vancouver’s GM Place back in March, 2004.
