Tanguay Heading to Tampa Bay Lightning

The Tampa Bay Lightning have agreed to terms to add Alex Tanguay to their roster and I’m really not happy about this one.   First of all, I think the Montreal Canadiens are stupid for dealing this guy away (along with a lot of their talent) and secondly, I hate to see another great player get sucked into the Bolts organization.

I know he’s a little soft but he’s a solid playmaker.  I think Tampa Bay got a good deal here but I don’t know how great it is for Tanguay.  I’ll try to stay optimistic since he really could work well …read more

San Jose Sharks Have No Captain

I don’t know if there’s a more blatant way to let a player know that’s he’s probably going to be traded but it has been announced that Patrick Marleau is no longer the captain of the San Jose Sharks.

I can’t say that I’m completely shocked but I am a little surprised.  I know he’s struggled in recent years with his leadership and the Sharks seem to continue to fall apart in the post-season but it’s really too bad.  I like Marleau a lot.

Is Vincent Lecavalier Leaving Tampa Bay?

I don’t know what’s going on but less than a year after Vincent Lecavalier signed a “lifetime” deal with the Tampa Bay Lightning, there’s all this gossip about whether he’s about to be traded away.  Back in February 2008, some were even saying that Vinny was asking to be traded but then he signed that contract and I thought it would be the end of the rumors.
