San Jose Sharks Have No Captain

I don’t know if there’s a more blatant way to let a player know that’s he’s probably going to be traded but it has been announced that Patrick Marleau is no longer the captain of the San Jose Sharks.
I can’t say that I’m completely shocked but I am a little surprised. I know he’s struggled in recent years with his leadership and the Sharks seem to continue to fall apart in the post-season but it’s really too bad. I like Marleau a lot.

Marty Turco Gives Away Puck, Loses Game

In what some people are already calling the “worst blunder of the season,” Dallas Stars goaltender, Marty Turco, basically gave the puck to San Jose Sharks captain, Patrick Marleau, allowing him to score with just 28.3 seconds left on the clock. It really is awful and, actually, pretty surprising given the fact that Turco is known for his excellent puck handling abilities. The game was tied up until that point so, in essence, that giveaway lost the game for the Stars. So sad. Watch the footage here:
