Red Wings Sign Bertuzzi To 1-Year Deal

Todd Bertuzzi’s suspicions about not returning to the Calgary Flames have turned out to be right. He never got that call from Daryl Sutter inviting him back to the team however much he wanted to continue playing with the Flames but he will be returning to the Western Conference.
The Detroit Red Wings have signed the veteran to a one-year, $1.5 million contract. He’s no stranger to the team since he played in eight games for the Wings during the 2006-2007 regular season and 16 games in the playoffs.

Todd Bertuzzi Sidelined After Knee Surgery

When addressing the media after a busy trade deadline day, Calgary Flames GM, Darryl Sutter, told reporters that Todd Bertuzzi had undergone arthroscopic surgery on his knee earlier this week and would be out of the lineup for about a month.
"It was better to go in and get it cleaned up and ready to go," said Sutter.
Sutter did provide some updates on some of the other injured Flames. Mark Giordano (shoulder surgery) probably won’t be able to play until May and Rene Bourque (high ankle sprain) will be sidelined for another four to five weeks. Centre Daymond Langkow, …read more
Steve Moore vs. Todd Bertuzzi – Will There Finally Be a Settlement?

I’m not trying to be a jerk or anything but I really wish this Steve Moore/Todd Bertuzzi thing would just get resolved. It’s dragging out and just has gone on long enough.
There was a face-to-face meeting in a court-mediated hearing today. At the meeting, Moore asked for $38 million in lost income and damages after his career was ended when Bertuzzi sucker-punched him and drove his head to the ice (I’m not in complete agreement that the last part was all Bert’s fault) during a game at Vancouver’s GM Place back in March, 2004.
