Pat Quinn Announced as Edmonton Oilers Coach

Looks like the Edmonton Oilers have won this round of the Battle of Alberta. Both the Oilers and their rivals, the Calgary Flames, needed a new coach and, this morning, it was announced that Pat Quinn would take on the role of head coach for Edmonton with former New York Rangers coach, Tom Renney, at his side as the associate head coach. Kelly Buchberger, will remain as an assistant coach.

New York Rangers Fire Head and Assistant Coaches

The coaching staff for the New York Rangers is the latest shake-up happening in the NHL. I’ve been reading reports all morning about the dismissal of both head coach, Tom Renney, and the assistant coach, Perry Pearn. That’s gonna be a huge change for the Rangers who have dropped from first place to barely being within a playoff spot.
