With the rest of the world gearing up for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games, it’s hard not to think about which NHL players will be representing their countries at the Olympics.
The 2009-2010 hockey season will come to a standstill for 14 days this February and, while the impact of the change in schedule is obvious, there’s more to how the Games will affect the upcoming NHL year.

Mats Sundin Opts Out of 2010 Olympics

Mats Sundin has made a very mature decision – he will not be on Sweden’s roster at the upcoming 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. The veteran center is, clearly, a great hockey player but I think he realizes that his country stands a better chance with him cheering from the sidelines.
