Tampa Bay Loses Kolzig for 3-4 Months

Olaf KolzigAs if the Tampa Bay Lightning aren’t struggling enough, they’ve been dealt yet another blow – backup goaltender, Olaf Kolzig will be out of the lineup for about 3-4 weeks after a distal biceps tendon rupture in his left arm.

The netminder is scheduled to have surgery on Saturday and will probably be out until next season unless, of course, the Lightning make the playoffs.  Since the Bolts have a snowball’s chance in hell of making it to the postseason, this basically means that we won’t be seeing Kolzig until some time this fall.
