Mark Messier has been tapped as the new general manager for the upcoming 2010 World Hockey Championship which will take place from May 7-23rd in Germany next year. Even though Messier, who obviously is a legend in the sport, has gotten a little experience as the special assistant to the GM (Glen Sather) for the New York Rangers, this will be the first time he’ll be serving as a manager in an international competition.

Kotalik Signs 3-Year Deal with Rangers

Ales Kotalik has joined his third team in less than two years. The forward was with the Buffalo Sabres and then the Edmonton Oilers during the 2008-2009 season and now he has inked a three-year, $9 million contract with the New York Rangers.
Kotalik’s best season so far was back in 2005-2006 when he scored 25 goals and posted 37 assists. He had a decent year this past season with 20 goals and 23 assists but I’m hoping the 30-year-old can find some magic with the Rangers.
