Wow.  Los Angeles Kings center, Jarret Stoll, has called off his upcoming wedding to former supermodel, Rachel Hunter.  It was just last month that I read an article on People.com about all of her plans to make the special day perfect.

Now, with just seven weeks remaining before the big event, Stoll has called off the wedding and even informed guests via email of the change of plans.  The couple got engaged in August 2008

One of Hunter’s friends told The Sun: “She is absolutely devastated the split.  Everything was in place for their wedding — she had the venue, the designer dress, the guest list. She has absolutely no idea why Jarret has done this. It sounds like it could be a classic case of cold feet. He is a fair bit younger than her.”

It’s true – Hunter is 39 and Stoll is 27 but I also think she’s had a lot more life experience.  She has two teenage children by her former husband, Rod Stewart, so that could be part of it.

Mike Comrie has been hanging out with his girlfriend, Hilary Duff, at the Tribeca Film Festival in NYC.  With the Ottawa Senators out of the playoffs, he definitely has a lot of extra time on his hands…

The couple talked to Us magazine about their relationship.  “It’s always fun watching her work” Comrie said. “We have fun.  We both live such different lives, but its always fun to support each other and spend time when we get to.  If it’s worth it, you make it work.”

Duff added: “It’s natural for us, which I think is great. I think that we both have busy jobs, and we’re both very focused people, so that helps, too. Since we are apart so much, its not like one person is at home waiting for the other.”

I think it’s great that these two have been able to make it work because I know that a long-distance relationship can be very hard.  Maybe now that the season is over for Comrie, they’ll be able to be together more often.

I’m so sad about this news.  Just a day after I’m sure he was celebrating making the playoffs with the Vancouver Canucks, forward, Taylor Pyatt, got some deeply tragic news.

The Thunder Bay, Ontario native made his way home today after his fiancée, Carly Bragnalo, was killed in a car accident while vacationing in Jamaica.  She was only 27 years old.  The couple planned to be married this summer.

"Today the Canucks lost a member of our family," Canucks general manager Mike Gillis said in a statement. "Carly was a lovely and generous young woman who shared her spirit for life with our players, their spouses and their extended families. We will support the Bragnalo family, Taylor and his entire family in any way we can during this very difficult time."

My condolences go out to Pyatt and both of their families.  So sad…

American Idol winner, Carrie Underwood, was again spotted cheering on her hockey-playing boyfriend, Mike Fisher, which his team, the Ottawa Senators took on the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning.  Fisher scored the game-winning goal, in overtime, on March 11, 2009 and Carrie can be seen jumping up and down and hugging someone in the box (I think it looks like she says “my boy.”  Here’s the video:

Hilary Duff has been talking about her hockey-playing boyfriend, Mike Comrie, a lot lately.  First, she was on the Rachael Ray show where she talked about being a crazy hockey fan in the stands.  In fact, she made a point of mentioning that she sits with other spectators and doesn’t sit in a box seat (was she taking a jab at Carrie Underwood who seems to only sit in box seats and sometimes even tries to hide completely?).

Now, Hilary tells UsMagazine.com the following: "I’m the worst dater!  I never really dated. I’ve been lucky to meet great people and be like, ‘Okay, let’s go. Let’s do this.’"

She reveals that Comrie first caught her eye because of his looks:  "I think first attraction to someone, you’re kind of like, ‘Oh he’s cute,’ you know?  But he’s a great guy. I’ve never met anyone who could say a bad word about him. He’s generous, caring, funny. We just laugh our heads off, which I need in my life.  He’s unique. I wouldn’t want to be with someone who wasn’t unique."

And what does she think about the fact that Comrie was recently traded to the Ottawa Senators from the New York Islanders?  "New York, Ottawa — a little bit of a change.  But it’s really good for him. They’re a great team."

She says she has already planned trips to visit him in Ottawa. "I’m like the crazy hockey lady sitting in the crowd, screaming my head off.”

In case you were wondering about how Mike Comrie’s move to the Ottawa Senators was going to affect his relationship with his famous girlfriend, Hilary Duff, (yeah, with the trade deadline and the post-season fast-approaching, I’m sure you can’t sleep at night thinking about Duff and Comrie, ha ha), the former New York Islander answered a question about it.  I wonder if she’ll move in with him soon.  I know she’s a lot younger but they are pretty serious!

Carrie Underwood was spotted at an Ottawa Senators game and I’m guessing she didn’t want to be seen because as soon as she heard her name, she tried to drop out of site.  I met her last week in at the private opening of the American Idol Experience and she was so sweet.  I’m guessing she really just wants to keep a wrap on her personal life.  It’s rumored that the country music superstar is dating Mike Fisher.

I saw some other pictures of them at a casino and swimming with the dolphins (don’t laugh even though I totally did).  Before you start jumping to conclusions, Hilary, who just turned 21, has said that while she can’t see herself with anyone else, she’s not going to rush into marriage.

Has yet another NHL hockey player snagged a female celebrity?  There is all sorts of talk about Ottawa Senators center, Mike Fisher, dating American Idol winner, Carrie Underwood. 

Apparently, fans saw her on the “hug cam” at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto in the VIP box with Fisher’s family.  Despite cheering him on during a battle against Toronto Maple Leafs, the Sens lost 3-1.

New York Islanders center, Mike Comrie, was spotted at the MTV Studios with his girlfriend, Hilary Duff, to participate in the final episode of the long-running series, Total Request Live (TRL).  I have to admit that I’m surprised that the show is coming to an end but that’s showbiz, right?
