“NHL 10″ Video Game Review
September 16, 2009 by Jeanne Dupuis

NHL 10 was released yesterday and I really enjoyed trying out all of the new features. I haven’t gotten a copy of 2K10 yet but I’ll probably rent it since I’m not sure how I’m going to feel about a hockey game on the Nintendo Wii and I don’t want to regret buying it. Since NHL 10 isn’t available on the Wii, I’ve got to at least see what 2K10 has that this game doesn’t.
First things first – the fighting is wayyy better than it was on NHL 09. It’s awesome because you are fighting from a real perspective instead …read more

I spotted a demo showing the Battle for the Cup gameplay for NHL 10 and I thought I’d share. The start of the new season is still more than a month away but at least I can start to enjoy hockey in some form when this game gets released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 15, 2009.
There are a lot of cool new features that have been added since NHL 09 so I’m looking forward to seeing how it changes the feel of the game. I know that I’m definitely going to enjoy the more physical …read more

After cleaning up at the 2009 NHL Awards last night, it was announced that Washington Capitals star, Alexander Ovechkin, would be appearing on the cover of NHL 2K10. Raise your hand if you are surprised after the year he’s had. No hands? Yeah, that’s what I thought.
The game will be released this fall for Wii, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation 2 and PC. Aside from that, there aren’t many details about the game floating around although I can pretty much promise that it will be about hockey…

Wow. I know the goal against Vesa Toskala was bad but watch this one. It doesn’t change direction or anything – it just bounces into the back of the net. This change of events is likely the reason the Minnesota Wild came back and beat the San Jose Sharks.
Marek Zidlicky took a backhand shot from mid-ice and, incredibly, it bounced right back backup goalie, Brian Boucher. Watch the goal:
NHL 09 Wins at 2008 Video Game Awards

Last night, the Spike channel announced their winners at the 2008 Video Game Awards. While Grand Theft Auto IV won for “Game of the Year,” I was thrilled to see NHL 09 take home the prize for “Best Team Sports Game.” I thought the new features (like one-handed dekes) really improved gameplay so I’m glad the game EA Games was recognized.

NHL 09 on XBOX 360 – Unreadable Discs?

So, I went out and bought NHL 09 last week when it came out and enjoyed a few fun-filled hours with my son until the game stopped working. We thought it might be the copy so we brought it back to Wal-Mart to exchange it for a new one. Guess what? The new disc doesn’t work either. I’ve never actually had a problem like this before so when that second disc didn’t work, I decided to search around on the internet and guess what I found? More people having the exact same problem with NHL 09 but it seems to …read more
NHL 2K9 Now Available on Wii, Xbox & PS3

NHL 2K9 is now available in stores but I haven’t picked up a copy yet. I am really torn. Not to be insulting but I consider this game lower quality than NHL 09 which is coming out on Friday. There are two reasons why I haven’t decided yet if which one I’m going to get (and, no, it’s not an option to buy both).
The first is that times change, technology changes and I feel like I should give this game a shot. The second thing is that this game, unlike NHL 09, is available on the Nintendo Wii. …read more

Rick Nash is on the cover of the new NHL2K9 and he was interviewed by andPop about the game (the interviewer actually asked him about the curse that follows players who appear on the cover of sports games – who does that?!?!).

NHL 09 Hockey League Trailer – Video

In the EA Games Hockey League, you can have up to 12 people playing at the same time and each of them can have their own individual camera in the third person mode. You can even have up to 50 friends playing on your team! Some people are really going to love the fact that the star of the game is the player and you can put your own name on the jersey. Now I really want this game (still a little bummed that it isn’t on Wii, though)! It hits stores on September 11, 2008.

NHL 09 New Features Overview – Video
August 5, 2008 by Jeanne Dupuis

In NHL 09, the new features were mostly intended to improve defensive play. For example, players can now “stick lift” which means they can lift another players’ stick off the ice. They can also poke check and sweep your stick 360 degrees. There’s also a new checking system, one-handed dekes and more. It comes out this September and will be available on the PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Sorry guys, no Wii version for this one which is too bad because it would have been fun to do poke checks with the Wii remote
