The Toronto Maple Leafs will be buying out Darcy Tucker’s contract. It’s set to happen sometime today and within 24 hours of the buyout, Tucker will become an unrestricted free agent.
“It is what it is. We’ve been ready for this for a while. It is a business,” Carlos Sosa (Tucker’s agent) said.
There are three years left on the forward’s contract. He will get two-thirds of it ($6 million USD) which will be paid over a six-year term by the Leafs.
