Oh yay…. I get to poke my eyes out when I watch hockey coverage on TSN…. The Canadian sports channel has added loudmouth John Tortorella to their lineup along with 18-year NHLer Ray Ferraro.
Tortorella was most recently the coach for the Tampa Bay Lightning but has since been replaced with Barry Melrose. Now he will be appearing on TSN Studio as part of the panel for 60 games, including weekly appearances on TSN’s marquee Wednesday Night Hockey telecasts where he will join host James Duthie along with Hockey Insiders Bob McKenzie and Darren Dreger.
Ferraro will be analyzing games from the broadcast booth starting October 14th (that game will feature the Colorado Avalanche @ the Calgary Flames). He is currently slated to work for 30 games alongside play-by-play announcer Chris Cuthbert. Ferraro’s also going to be a regular contributor to SportsCentre and TSN.ca.
Looking forward to seeing/hearing Ferraro but I really dislike Torty. I’ll concede this much, though – the former Bolts coach should be entertaining, to say the least.
