During the second period of the Carolina Hurricanes at New York Rangers game last night, center Matt Cullen (Canes) got knocked out by Colton Orr (Rangers). Cullen left the game with a broken nose and possible concussion. Orr got an interference major, game misconduct and fighting major. Wow…
Watch the hit:

The refs were horrible last night. Beside tis play they called a hand pass on carolina in their own zone. Secondly Avery dis deserve a penalty for his actions late in the game, but not a 10 minute misconduct. They are way to trigger happy with the calls.
The Orr play was a clean hit and to be honest it was Matt Cullen’s fault and i hope all kids saw that and learned the danger of skating with their head down. I feel that the refs just called something because Cullen got layed out and hurt, but if you are going to skate with your head down you don’t belong on the ice.
If Colin Campbell takes any action against Orr it will be a crying shame. I think the refs are the ones who need to be repremanded for thier unprofessionalness and absent mindedness during this game.
I second that!!!! I was at the game. Watch the video, Orr was going for the puck. Cullen should have been called for inteference. Orr’s hands were no higher than Cullen upon impact.
Bad call by the refs.
