2006 Gold Glove Awards Announced — Lucky Us

I’m not a huge fan of awards, mostly because they often don’t honor the right people. The Gold Glove has occupied a special place in my heart — right between Creed and Being John Malkovich — ever since Rafael Palmeiro, then with the Baltimore Orioles, “won” the first base award in 1999 despite playing just 28 games in the field that season.
That disclaimer out of the way, here are your American League and National League winners of the Gold Glove award in 2006.
Feel free to express your incredulity at Derek Jeter picking up his third Gold Glove despite being one of the weaker defensive shortstops in baseball. I would do it myself, but frankly, I don’t really care…
