2007 MLB Award Poll Recap

October 12, 2007 by Geoff Young

Okay, I promise this is the last I’ll say on the subject. In case you somehow missed it, we’ve been running polls on all of MLB’s major postseason awards. Here is a list of links to all of our polls and who is leading as of this writing.

Award Current Leader
AL MVP Alex Rodriguez
NL MVP Jimmy Rollins Matt Holliday
AL Cy Young Josh Beckett
NL Cy Young Jake Peavy
AL Rookie Dustin Pedroia
NL Rookie Troy Tulowitzki
AL Manager of the Year Eric Wedge
NL Manager of the Year Clint Hurdle

I’m not going to tell you which ones I think are wrong, but I will say that their names rhyme with Mimmy Mollins Ratt Rolliday and Posh Peckett. If you haven’t voted yet, please feel free to do the right thing. ;-)

  1. Mike Wendlandt says:

Ryan Braun had one of the greatest rookie seasons ever. Why shouldn’t he be Rookie Of The Year?

  2. Geoff Young says:

The one reason that keeps popping up is his defense. If I had a vote, Braun would get mine, but I can understand the arguments for Tulowitzki.

  3. Dave Leigh says:

I saw about 140 Brewer games this year. If Braun stays healthy, etc, etc, he will become one of the best hitters of all time. I mean average and power. Best wrists in baseball right now. Just watch and see. I’ve been watching this great game for 50 years.

  4. Brendan says:

Magglio Ordonez should be AL MVP, I mean look at A-Rods Strikeouts-120 and Maggs strikeouts-79. And look at batting average-.363 for Maggs! All I can say is you guys are out of your mind.

  5. Brendan says:

A-Rod should NOT be AL MVP!!!!!

  6. Geoff Young says:

Thanks, Brendan, for stopping by. Ordonez had a great year, and most seasons it would be enough for the MVP, but A-Rod’s numbers were pretty overwhelming.
