Another Top 100 Prospects for 2007 List

The top prospect lists are coming together. We’ve already highlighted the Top 100 at Baseball Digest Daily. Now it’s time for the Project Prospect Top 100.

Both sites have the same names in their Top 10, with one two exceptions: Project Prospect considers Daisuke Matsuzaka a prospect, while Baseball Digest Daily does not and has Minnesota right-hander Matt Garza in his place (Garza is #21 on the Project Prospect list). [Update: Missed one other difference: BDD has Diamondbacks outfielder Justin Upton in its list, PP has Mets right-hander Mike Pelfrey.] The two sites differ on the #1 prospect, but both have Angels infielder Brandon Wood at #5 and Detroit Tigers outfielder Cameron Maybin at #9.

Check out the Project Prospect Top 100 for the entire list. See how your team stacks up and make yourself a little more familiar with some of tomorrow’s stars. Good off-season reading.

This is pretty bleak for the Padres. Without the trade of Barfield for Kouzmanoff, the Padres wouldn’t land any prospect on the list. Other NL West teams are doing better even SF and Colorado. I hope this coming June draft will land the Padres some good prospects.
