As Usual, It Sucks to Be a Marlins Fan

The lead from this article is classic:
Even after signing Jose Castillo on Christmas Eve, the Marlins may not be done giving themselves third base options.
Only in Miami, where the Marlins’ owner has trained his team’s “fans” to expect nothing and like it, could this even be in doubt. Castillo hit .244/.270/.335 for the Pirates in 2007. Huh, so he might not be the answer at third?
Other players being considered include Jorge Cantu and Dallas McPherson. Cantu hit .252/.331/.357 last season for the Devil Rays and the Reds. McPherson didn’t play in 2007 due to injury, but hit .261/.298/.478 the previous year for the Angels.
Yep, things sure are looking up in Florida…

I hate to say it but the Marilins still have more rings than the Pads and have had just as many Fire sales, so it cant be that bad to be a Marlins fan.
Well, I’m not sure we ever drew a crowd of 200. There is zero financial commitment to the franchise. Rings or not, it’s an embarrassment.
Very true, im just wondering it is better to have won and lost then to have never won at all… j/k
Hah, well said!
Tough call there. On one hand, two rings, on the other crappy years in between. Too much of a bad thing, I say. Those painful years pre-95 Padres were bad too. Not sure if two rings would quite salve the wounds knowing the owners are actively not competing most years.
those 99 to 04 years were not pretty as well…
The last 4 years have been really nice but I can only buy so many NL West championship T-Shirts.
