Rich Lederer at Baseball Analysts has been campaigning for Bert Blyleven’s election into Cooperstown for some time, and his latest analysis provides compelling evidence in favor of Blyleven. Of course, I’m not who Rich is trying to convince (I already believe that Blyleven belongs in the Hall of Fame and that his continued exclusion points to a flawed election process). Here’s hoping the voters will start paying more attention to Blyleven’s actual accomplishments as a big-league ballplayer and correct their mistake.
Speaking of the Hall of Fame, I’ve opened a survey asking which of Jeff Bagwell, Fred McGriff, and Gary Sheffield is most likely to gain entrance. Feel free to cast a vote.
