James Greanias Video – Did he curse the Cubs?

October 4, 2008 by Stephen Kersey

According to a number of reports, Greek Orthodox priest Reverend Father James Greanias was brought in to exorcise the Chicago Cubs dugout prior to Game 1 of their NLDS series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. In the video at the this entry, you can see him at work in the Cubs dugout.

However, now that the Cubs got swept by the Dodgers, some Cubs fans are wondering whether he accidentally cursed the 2008 Cubs instead. Greanias, who is from St. Iakovos Church, traveled from his Valparaiso home to do the exorcism. With the way the Cubs played in the regular season, it didn’t appear as if they needed to be exorcised.

Are Cubs fans overreacting to getting ousted from the playoffs yet again or is there something more to this supposed curse? Here is the Reverend Father James Greanias video:

  1. Man, those Cubs fans are really starting to lose it and forget that their team is competing at a great level these last few years and they have a bright short term future. Would you prefer to support the Nationals?
