Jorge Posada Injury Update

New York Yankees catcher Jorge Posada is getting closer and closer to returning to the field. Posada played in an extended spring training game and caught five innings. Although Posada went 0-for-5 at the plate, the more important news is that he’s catching once again.

While Posada is now throwing the ball back to the pitcher, he hasn’t started any in-game throwing. That phase of his rehabilitation will begin later in the week. If everything goes as planned, Posada could return to the Yankees in about one week from now.

The Yankees could undoubtedly use Posada’s help. New York is in last place in the AL East with a record of 25-26.
