Matsuzaka and Greinke

Geez, the Cubs and Reds are already playing. I’ve barely finished my first cup of coffee. Okay, so I guess we’re not really watching that one. Pretty light schedule today, and there’s only one game worth mentioning:
American League
- Red Sox at Royals, 11:10 a.m. PT – Daisuke Matsuzaka makes his much-anticipated big-league debut. No, it only seems like he’s been pitching over here for years. That would be the media coverage, thank you very much. On the other side, former uberprospect Zack Greinke gets the call. After being a fixture in the Kansas City rotation in 2004 and 2005, Greinke made only three relief appearances last year. You know about his bout with depression, but now he appears to back and ready to resume a once-promising career. Did I say “once-promising”? Folks, he’s still just 23 years old. Plenty of time. Seriously, what were you doing at age 23? I was living in a studio apartment four blocks from Balboa Park, eating frozen pasta (4 for $5), dodging homeless guys drunk on Mickey’s Big Mouth. I miss those days. I was really doing something with my life back then.
Anyway, enough about me. Go watch some baseball.
