Pence on Erstad

Hunter Pence has posted his latest blog entry. In it, he talks more about his workout regimen, as well as offering thoughts on the Astros’ recent signing of Darin Erstad:
I am really excited about him joining our team because we brought in another guy who plays the game with the right mentality. Having watched Darin play, he seems like a hard nosed ball player who will do anything to win.
Erstad hasn’t been a productive big leaguer since 2000. I admire and respect my esteemed colleague’s enthusiasm, but I’d be lying if I said I thought Erstad would make much of a difference in Houston this year.
I could not agree more with you here. And still, this signing remains the best move the Astros have done this offseason.
I feel bad for Astros fans right now, with Wade at the helm. It’s a sad situation that will take a lot of time to rectify even with the best intentions….
