The Tampa Bay Rays had it in their grasps. Leading the series against the Boston Red Sox 3-1, the Rays had a 7-0 late in Game 5. However, with multiple heroic hits by the never say die Red Sox, Boston was able to pull off one of the greatest comebacks in postseason history by winning the game 8-7.
Even though the Rays still lead the series 3-2, it appears as if all the pressure is now on the Rays to advance. Previously, the Rays were able to play free and easy. It will be interesting to see what happens now that the Rays feel pressure — for perhaps the first time all season.
After coming back from an 3-0 deficit against the New York Yankees, the Red Sox have been known as a team that never gives up. Their current situation may seem bleak but it compared to the 3-0 hole they dug out of, it’s a walk in the park.
Will the Tampa Bay Rays be able to beat the Boston Red Sox in Game 6 to advance to the 2008 World Series? Find out on Saturday at 8:07 PM ET.
