Red Sox Sweep Yankees

Boston swept the Yankees over the weekend at Fenway. I mention this out of obligation, not because I have any interest whatsoever in either team.
I guess if there’s an intriguing angle, it’s that the Red Sox scored exactly seven runs in all three games. It also bears noting, if for no other reason than this might be the only chance I get to do it, that Toronto second baseman Aaron Hill has more home runs than Boston’s Manny Ramirez.
Yeah, I’m reaching. But I really don’t care about these teams at all…

I know everyone is sick of hearing about Boston and NY but that was a great series. The atmosphere was unlike anything we see on the west coast, with the Boston fans crammed elbow to elbow in Fenway. It’s crazy that we went more than 40 years until a team hit 4 homers in a row, then it happens again a year later and JD Drew was involved in both instances.
Good baseball is good baseball, even if you hate both teams.
Whoa, that happened again? Okay, I guess I can take off my “Cranky West Coast Guy” hat and give props where it’s due. I think if I could figure out a way to watch Red Sox and/or Yankees games on TV that kept the announcers quiet but let the crowd noise filter through, I’d probably enjoy them. It’s just that I invariably lose interest about 5 minutes in, after someone has extolled the virtues of Derek Jeter’s defense or David Ortiz’ clutchiness. Yuck.
And I actually don’t hate both teams. I hate the media’s coverage of both teams. What I feel toward the two teams is a lot closer to indifference…
