Rizzuto Dies at 89

August 15, 2007 by Geoff Young
Filed under Hall of Fame, Personalities

Forgive my tardiness in mentioning this, but Hall of Famer Phil Rizzuto died Monday at age 89. Rizzuto played for the New York Yankees from 1941 to 1956, and was awarded the American League MVP in 1950. After his playing career, Rizzuto served as broadcaster for the Yankees for many years.

My condolences to Rizzuto’s family and friends…
