Dayan Viciedo Signed by the White Sox

Dayan Viciedo, a 19-year-old Cuban baseball prospect, signed an $11 million contract with the Chicago White Sox. Viciedo had recently defected from Cuba and was living in South Florida.
Viciedo will likely play third base for the White Sox, however he also has some experience in the outfield. While in Cuba, he was a star player when he was only 16 years old while playing in the top Cuban league.

Twins play White Sox for spot in 2008 playoffs

On Tuesday, the Minnesota Twins will play the Chicago White Sox for a spot in the 2008 baseball playoffs. Both teams finished with a record of 88-74 and must play game number 163 to determine who has to right to advance to the postseason.
To even force this final game, the White Sox had to beat the Detroit Tigers on Monday. They did so by a final score of 8-2. The big hit in the game was authored by second baseman Alexei Ramirez in the form of a grand slam.
