Hairston Ruins Andy Pettitte’s Perfect Game

Jerry Hairston Jr. was playing third base for the New York Yankees against the Baltimore Orioles because Alex Rodriguez had the day off. On Monday, Hairston received a lot of unwanted pub after he ruined Andy Pettitte’s perfect game bid.
In the seventh inning, Pettitte still was going strong with his perfect game. But Hairston committed an error on a ground ball with two outs to end the perfect game bid. The next batter, Nick Markakis, hit a single to end the no-hitter.
