Crazy Carl Must Be Furious

Jose Offerman has been suspended indefinitely from the Atlantic League for attacking opposing pitcher Matt Beech and catcher John Nathans with a baseball bat after being hit by a pitch from Beech. In addition to being suspended, according to the Boston Globe, “Offerman has been charged with two counts of second-degree assault.”
Obviously, this is just nuts, but I can’t help but wonder if Offerman’s teammate on the Long Island Ducks, former big-league player and all-around whack job Carl Everett, is a bit miffed at being shown up on the field. Is there some sort of protocol for this sort of …read more
