Crazy Carl Must Be Furious

Jose Offerman has been suspended indefinitely from the Atlantic League for attacking opposing pitcher Matt Beech and catcher John Nathans with a baseball bat after being hit by a pitch from Beech. In addition to being suspended, according to the Boston Globe, “Offerman has been charged with two counts of second-degree assault.”

Obviously, this is just nuts, but I can’t help but wonder if Offerman’s teammate on the Long Island Ducks, former big-league player and all-around whack job Carl Everett, is a bit miffed at being shown up on the field. Is there some sort of protocol for this sort of thing, or does Everett have to suck it up and wait for another opportunity?
