The New York Yankees gave C.C. Sabathia a truck load of money to convince him to come to the Big Apple. On Friday, Sabathia showed the world why the Yankees wanted him so much as New York beat the Los Angeles Angels by a final count of 4-1.
In eight innings of work, Sabathia gave up four hits, one walk and one earned run while striking out seven. It was Sabathia second postseason win in two starts. Closer Mariano Rivera pitched the ninth inning to pick up the save.

CC Sabathia Signs with New York Yankees

The New York Yankees finally got their guy. CC Sabathia, the free agent pitcher previously with the Milwaukee Brewers, has reportedly agreed to a seven-year, $161 million contract with New York.
A unique aspect about the deal is the fact that it has an opt-out clause for Sabathia after three seasons. According to reports, Sabathia wanted that clause in case he and his family were not able to adapt to the city of New York. Sabathia, who grew up in California, apparently didn’t want to take a bite out of the Big Apple without having an out clause.

A report on the first day of baseball free agency has the New York Yankees extending an offer to CC Sabathia that will make him the highest paid pitcher in all of baseball. The offer is believed to be six-years and worth a total of $140 million.
