Joba Chamberlain to Stay in Bullpen

Joba Chamberlain started the 2008 baseball season in the bullpen. It appears as if he’ll end the season in the bullpen, as well.
Chamberlain, who missed time recently due to a shoulder injury, had been starting for the Yankees. As a starter, Chamberlain had a lot of success. In fact, Chamberlain was arguably the Yankees’ best starter.
In 12 starts, Chamberlain posted an ERA of 2.76 and had 74 strikeouts in 65.1 innings. While he was only 3-1 in his starts, he seemed to be getting better and better.

Joba Chamberlain Makes First Start for Yankees

Joba Chamberlain, the hard throwing right-handed pitcher for the New York Yankees, made his first career start on Tuesday. Prior to his first start, the 22-year-old Chamberlain was used primarily as a setup man.
In his first start, Chamberlain was less than amazing. In fact, he was disappointing. He only got through 2.1 innings in which he gave up two runs (one earned), one hit, four walks and struck out three batters. Chamberlain could have gone longer but the Yankees had their youngster on a strict pitch count.
