Baseball Roundtable Thing

The good folks at Two guys who, like, never agree recently invited me to participate in a roundtable discussion. Other panelists included John Brattain, Craig Calcaterra, Connor Doyle, Colin Laisure-Pool, Voros McCracken, Jason Rosenberg, Justin St. Germain, and Pete Toms.
There’s lots of good stuff in here, but one of my favorite bits is Brattain’s riff on the current state of affairs regarding PEDs:

Why Cheat? Why Not…

A buddy pointed me to an interesting article by John Brattain over at Sympatico/MSN on the motives for cheating in baseball. With all the fuss over steroids, HGH, and other performance-enhancing drugs, John asks the logical question of why cheaters do what they do. The reasons, although hardly surprising, are a bit disturbing and force (or should force) us to ask some honest questions about ourselves as a society and, perhaps more realistically, as individuals within that society.
