Not that I condone such behavior, but this truly is brilliant:
Quick mini-review of Phillip Wellman’s ejection:
Tossing hat: 7 — not bad, but seen it before
Getting in plate umpire’s face: 7 — again, fairly generic stuff
Covering home plate with dirt: 9 — starts out fairly simple, but the attention to detail and showmanship are impressive; he clearly takes pride in his work
Tossing third base: 6 — like the concept, but this is a terrible throw; Juan Pierre could’ve done better
Crawling from second base to pitchers mound and tossing resin bag like a grenade toward home plate: 10 — totally makes up …read more
