Baseball Free Agency Update – Who Signed?

Although the major action in baseball free agency hasn’t taken place yet, some baseball free agents have already signed. Which free agents have new contracts? Here’s the list so far:
Ryan Dempster, Chicago Cubs
Dempster re-signed with the Cubs for four years and $52 million.
Edgar Renteria, San Francisco Giants
Renteria left the Detroit Tigers to sign with the Giants for two years and $18.5 million.
Jeremy Affeldt, San Francisco Giants
Affeldt, formerly of the Cincinnati Reds, signed with the Giants for two years and $8 million.
Mike Lincoln, Cincinnati Reds
Lincoln re-signed with the Reds with a contract that will pay him $4 million over two years.

Hanley Ramirez, Florida Marlins
At 24, Hanley Ramirez is already a superstar. He’s off to a fantastic start as he’s hitting .337 with eight homers, 18 RBIs and 22 runs scored. Ramirez also has nine stolen bases and an on-base percentage of over .400.
Miguel Tejada, Houston Astros
While there are controversies surrounding Tejada regarding everything from his age to his name to his steroid use, there’s no denying how well Tejada is swinging the bat this year. He’s hitting .340 with four homers and 20 RBIs.
