Evan Longoria Hits Two Homers in Postseason Debut

Evan Longoria of the Tampa Bay Rays is known as a big-time baseball talent (and that guy whose name sounds like he may be Eva’s twin brother). In the first game of his postseason life, Longoria hit two homers to lead the Rays to a 6-4 victory over the Chicago White Sox.
Longoria finished the game 3-for-3 with a walk, two runs, three RBIs and those two home runs. His homers came in the second and third inning against White Sox pitcher Javier Vazquez.

AL MVP – Josh Hamilton, Texas Rangers
Ian Kinsler and Milton Bradley are playing very well for the Rangers. However, I believe that it is Hamilton who is the backbone of that team’s lineup. Take him away and the Rangers wouldn’t be nearly as deadly.
NL MVP – Lance Berkman, Houston Astros
Sure, the Astros are a bad team and chances are slim that they will make the playoffs. That said, Berkman is having a career year and is the best hitter in the NL to date this season.

No, Evan Longoria isn’t married to Tony Parker. He’s also not planning to be on Desperate Housewives anytime soon, as far as we know. He’s not even related to Eva Longoria. But Evan Longoria, with an N, has already made a name for himself.
With less than ten major league baseball games under his belt, the Tampa Bay Rays decided to lockup their third baseman super prospect to a long-term deal. The contract is said to guarantee Longoria approximately $20 million and could be worth as much as $45 million.
