Cubs Swept Video – Cubs Eliminated from Playoffs

Many baseball experts had the Chicago Cubs as the favorites to win the 2008 World Series. Cubs fans were also hopeful that the 100-year curse could finally be over. Those hopes, however, will have to wait another year.
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Cubs on Saturday to successfully complete a 3-0 sweep. The Dodgers, who won the game 3-1, will move on to face the winner of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Milwaukee Brewers series. The Phillies currently lead that series 2-1.

CC Sabathia Trade Rumors – Destinations?

CC Sabathia, the oversized ace for the Cleveland Indians, is looking more and more like a player that is about to be traded. The Indians, who are 35-41 and seven games behind the AL Central leading Chicago White Sox, will likely look to trade Sabathia before he becomes a free agent after the season.
Sabathia struggled mightily to begin his 2008 campaign but has bounced back nicely. After posting a 7.76 ERA in April, Sabathia had a 2.44 ERA in May and so far in June has a 2.74 ERA. Sabathia, who won the Cy Young Award last …read more

Dodgers at Diamondbacks, 12:40 p.m. PT — Hiroki Kuroda looked outstanding in his North American debut. I expected the funky delivery that is characteristic of pitchers who come over from Japan, but the velocity caught me by surprise. He was pumping 93-mph fastballs against the Padres. Micah Owings gets the call for Arizona. He dominated the Rockies in his first start of ‘08 (although he only went 1-for-4 at the plate, LOL).
