Not only has Ichiro never been ejected from a Major League Baseball game, he was never ejected for a game in the Japanese leagues. You can watch the video below to see Ichiro get ejected.

On the season, the 35-year-old Ichiro is having another great year. He’s hitting .353 with 11 homers, 46 RBIs and 216 hits. He has 200 hits in each of his first nine seasons — an all-time record.

This offseason has been an extremely busy time for Ichiro. Playing in the 2009 World Baseball Classic for Japan, he had the entire pressure of the country on him to bring home back-to-back WBC titles. Thanks to Ichiro’s game-winning hit, he was able to do just that.

Ichiro's Heroic Hit for Japan (Image: newscom)

Although he didn’t get many swings in during spring training, Ichiro hit .417. After missing the final three spring training games, doctors found that the problem was a bleeding ulcer.

Last year the Mariners massively underperformed, however Ichiro wasn’t part of the problem. He hit .310 with six homers, 42 RBIs and finished with more than 100 runs, 200 hits and a batting average of better than .300 for the eighth consecutive season in his career.

Watch this video of a great coach Ichiro made against the Boston Red Sox. Jason Varitek hit a shot to dead center and Ichiro chased it down to make an amazing catch.
While Ichiro isn’t swinging the bat as well as usual for the Seattle Mariners, plays like this show why he can still be one of the most valuable players in baseball on a game in and game out basis.
