Red Sox and Rays Video Preview – Playoffs

On Monday, both the Boston Red Sox and the Tampa Bay Rays advanced in the American League playoffs. The two AL East teams will now play each other, with the Rays having home field advantage in the best of seven series.
To advance, the Red Sox got a big hit from rookie Jed Lowrie. With two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, Lowrie delivered a series winning single against the Los Angeles Angels to end the game. Scoring the winning run was Jason Bay as the Red Sox won 3-2.

This is one of the oddest videos you will ever see from a baseball game. Against the Kansas City Royals, Jason Bay of the Boston Red Sox hit a ball deep into the outfield. Mitch Maier tried to make a leaping catch in the outfield. Instead of coming down with the ball, the ball rolled along the top of the fence. Luckily for the Royals, Ross Gload came along and knocked the ball off the top of the wall before it cleared for a home run.

Baseball Trades on the Trade Deadline 2008

The 2008 baseball trade deadline saw a flurry of trades involving some of the biggest names in the game. Players who were traded include future Hall of Famers Manny Ramirez, Ken Griffey, Jr. and Pudge Rodriguez.
Here is a breakdown of who got traded and to where.
