Phillies Tire of Money, Throw Extra at Romero

The Philadelphia Phillies have signed left-handed reliever J.C. Romero to a 3-year deal worth $12 million. A club option for 2011 could kick the total value up to $16.75 million.
And now for the funny bits. Quoth Romero:
I’m glad I didn’t have to go out and test the free-agent market. I had a great time with the Phillies and really wanted to come back.
Yeah, I’ll bet you’re glad you didn’t have to test the market.
