Jonathan Papelbon Video – We Don’t Miss Manny

Jonathan Papelbon, the outspoken closer for the Boston Red Sox, bluntly asserted that his team doesn’t miss Manny Ramirez. You can see the video at the end of this entry.
In the five minute video, Papelbon rambles on a number of different topics. However, the juiciest segment is when he talks about former teammate Manny Ramirez. Ramirez, who was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers at the trade deadline, reportedly became unpopular with players, coaches and even ownership in his last few months in Boston.

Jonathan Papelbon Crying After Loss To Yankees

Boston Red Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon was apparently crying after giving up a game-winning hit in the tenth inning against the New York Yankees. Papelbon, who entered the game tied at four, allowed Brett Gardner to drive in the winning run.
With two outs and Robinson Cano on second base, Gardner hit a single to right field. Gardner, a rookie, was only 1-for-16 entering the game.
With the loss, the Red Sox fell four games behind the Tampa Bay Rays in the AL East. With the win, the Yankees now trail the Rays by nine games.

Jonathan Papelbon – Second Straight Blown Save – Red Sox Fans Worry?

Jonathan Papelbon has appeared in less than 150 games as a relief pitcher but he has quickly become one of the best closers in the game of baseball. When Papelbon takes the mound, he oftentimes makes opposing hitters look hopeless.

However, for the second straight game, the right-hander out of Mississippi State has blown a save for the Boston Red Sox. The two blown saves were his first blown saves of the season. Last year, Papelbon had 37 saves and only three blown saves to go with a 1.85 ERA.
