After flirting with the Oakland Athletics and the Atlanta Braves, Furcal decided to stay right where he was. The contract is believed to be worth $30 million over three years — the exact offer he received from the Atlanta Braves. With the Philadelphia Phillies holding a 2-0 lead in the best of seven National League Championship Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers desperately needed a win at home to stay within striking distance in the series. In Game 3, the Dodgers wasted little time in making that happen.
