Earlier this year, Manny Ramirez had a great defensive play when he caught a ball, gave a fan a high five and then completed a double play. Click here for the video of that amazing play.
But now here is a video of the other side of Manny. While the effort was there, the result wasn’t. Ramirez charged a ball and dove to catch it. His dive was too soon and then he bumbled around while trying to pick up the ball.

On Saturday night, Manny Ramirez hit his 500th career homer against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. Ramirez, the star outfielder for the Boston Red Sox, becomes the 24th player in history to reach the milestone.
Against right-hander Chad Bradford, Ramirez hammered the first pitch and posed for what he knew was his 500th dinger. To go along with the homers, Ramirez also has 2268 hits, 1,639 RBIs, 1,375 runs scored and, perhaps most impressive, a .312 batting average. That’s the fourth highest batting average in baseball history for a player with 500 homers.
